Mr. Schott was born on Jan. 26, 1926 in Iowa City, IA. He attended country school and helped his father on the farm. In 1943, he enlisted in the Army and seved in Germany during World War II. Mr. Schott flew glider planes and was later a cook; he was discharged in 1950. He returned to Iowa and worked crious farming jobs. On Sept. 27, 1953, he married Dora Winslow at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. The couple moved to Minnesota and farmed. In 1971, Mr. and Mrs. Schott moved to the Preston area, where Mr. Schott worked for Jerry Gartner, farming until his retirement. They raised 11 children. Nine of them were their own children. The other two were their grandchildren. A very good job if you were to ask anyone of them. Mr. Schott was very family oriented. Nothing meant more to him than his loved ones. All of his teachings will live forever, never fade.
